StorkWorld is a baby-names and new-parent reference built on one simple promise: when we tell you what a name means, that meaning is real. Every name in our library carries an etymology drawn from established linguistic and historical sources — not generated, not guessed, and never padded to fill a page.

Why we exist

Choosing a name is one of the first and most personal decisions a family makes. Yet a lot of what you find online is recycled, contradictory, or simply invented — “meanings” that no dictionary or scholar would recognise. We started StorkWorld to be the opposite: a place where you can trust that a name’s meaning, origin and pronunciation have been checked before they reach you.

Our standards

We are editorially independent. Names are never featured because someone paid for placement. Where a name’s history is genuinely uncertain or disputed, we say so rather than pick the prettiest story.
